The fun ended way to fast

We had SOOOOOO much fun with my mom and grandfather. Like it always does, the time flew by way to fast. We packed in a ton of activities in a short 4 days. We got our massages, hit up Ikea for the first time, went to our fav thrift stores, visited the farmers market, garage sales, ate fantastic meals, saw Evan Almighty, checked out a cool toy store, and overall had a GREAT time!!! There is always a lot of laughing and fun when we get together. Mom even gave Jim a nickname..." Jimmy the Rash" and Pop Pop called him "P.I" (because of his poison ivy). Love it!!! Unfortunately, their visits always rush by!! Here are some of the pictures from the trip:

Fathers Day

We spent fathers day eating dinner with Jim's family at the Salt Grass. The food and company were very good! Jim got a Chicken Fried Steak that was HUGE! I sat next to Caden, who is quite the ham in front of the camera :) We are having my dad over for dinner next week to celebrate Fathers day with him!

Yet another birthday!!

The newest member of the family is turning 21! We are lucky to have Gilat in the family! Way to go Keith! :)

Get ready and start your engines, we need to sing Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday dear Gilat, Happy Birthday to you!!!

I have a dirty mind....

But how could you not read that and not think it sounded dirty. :) Dirty little pizza box

Beautiful Bouncing Baby

Little Hannah was such a great baby! She let me move her around and take pictures of her without fussing. She is by far the youngest person I have photographed! She was 24 days old! I look forward to taking her picture as she gets older!!

What a Cute Couple!

I had the honor of taking Courtney and Matt's engagement photos on Sunday. We headed to Zilker Botanical Gardens where we had a great time! I so enjoy taking pictures and it is more special when I am taking pictures of my friends!!

Sunday Dinner

I found a good deal on salmon on Friday so I bought some for dinner. I usually cook it a couple of different ways, but this night I chose to use the Miso dressing as a marinade and basting sauce. It is soooo nice and tasty, and a lot less calories than tarter sauce. I grilled the salmon with some asparagus and onions. YUM!

If I had been thinking I would have put together an Italian dinner for Sunday night. Why you ask? Well, to give The Soprano's a proper send off. Watching the mob on TV and eating some delish cheesy pasta! Sunday was the series last episode. The episode was a bit of a let down. There were some great parts of the show, but the ending almost killed me. I urged Jim to try the other HBO channel to see if we having an issue with Dish. But nooooooo, the Soprano's merely cut the show to a black screen while they were eating dinner. No fighting, no cussing, no killing, no dodging bullets. Damn. Damn. Damn. I have heard that they taped a couple of different versions of the ending, and I really hope they release the alternate endings. I will miss the BadaBing, the severly fucked up young Anthony, Mr. Silver streaks Paulie, and the sheer amount of greasy pork products that were consumed during the series. I need to find another show to entertain me with all of the Jersey love out there!! :)

More demolition

We spent 3 hours on Sunday demo'ing our kitchen. We are soooo close to taking down all of the wood. We have about a half of a wall to take down then we are done!! We even took down the soffit (the part of the wall above the sink that didn't do anything). I am soooo excited, but I know that we have a long way to go! :)

here are a couple of pictures. I have more (of course) but I need to download them!

Our new Fridge

I really love our new fridge!!! I like the fact that the fridge is eye level (instead of below), because it makes it really easy to find stuff!! :) And of course, my entourage was following me, so they got into the picture.

Cheese-Stuffed Jalapeños

I found a recipe on the internet that I couldn't wait to try. Jim and I have figured out that we LOVE cream cheese jalapeno poppers. But they aren't the best for a gal trying to lose her badonka-donk butt, so when I saw a baked version I had to try! I know some people out there aren't fans of jalapenos but these aren't that hot (unless you get an insanely hot pepper, that will be hot no matter what you do to it.). This is very easy and makes for a different side dish!

Taste of Home Celebrations Cookbook
Copyright 2005

6 medium fresh jalapeño peppers
1/2 package (4 ounces) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese (I used a colby cheese mix)
1 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
sprinkle of garlic powder
2 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

Cut jalapeños in half lengthwise; remove seeds and membranes. In a large saucepan, boil peppers in water for 5-10 minutes (the longer you boil the peppers, the milder they become.) Drain and rinse in cold water; set aside. In a small mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, cheddar cheese and Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. Spoon 2 teaspoonfuls in to each jalapeño half; sprinkle with bacon. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve warm.

Wedding Bells

Here are a couple pictures from the wedding!!

Slow Moving

We are still working on the kitchen, but unfortunately we don't have as much time to work on it. We are chipping away slowly. Jim changed out the garbage disposal since ours died and we took down more wood planks. We also had to buy a new fridge because our old fridge's compressor kept dying. One day we came home from work to a warm fridge. GROSS! So we headed to Home Depot and Best Buy to do a little research. We decided on a bottom freezer stainless steel fridge. It is larger than the last, and I LOVE IT! I don't have a picture right now, but I will soon! Here are a couple of pictures of the work we have done:

Howdy

I haven't had as much free time as I would like, so I had to put my blog on the back burner! I started a new class, got a promotion, and shot a wedding! All in one week :) So my free time has been spent working on the wedding pictures and working on homework (ick).

The wedding was absolutely beautiful! The weather cooperated (it looked like rain earlier in the day) and we had a great night! I have to say, the wedding kicked my ass. It was pretty hot (low 90's) and I was running around taking lots (over 1000) pictures. After I sat, ate some food, and had a water, I was ready to go for more pictures! I'll post a couple of pictures in a little bit. It is going to take me at least a couple more days to get them all pretty :)
