Happy New Year!
We started off our new year very lazy and it was perfect. We stayed in our PJs all day. The one area where I was productive was cooking. I made a frittata for breakfast and then a big spread for dinner. I found a recipe for turkey which was basted with a mixture of Maderia wine, cranberries, honey, onions and mustard that I couldn't wait to try. The mixture gave the turkey a beautiful color with a nice flavoring. Will have to keep that recipe for the next time!!

Since we were home all day, I had plenty of time to snuggle with the pets and take pictures of them! :)

My Boos!
It's been awhile since you guys have seen my babies! The kittens are now 10 months old and I think they might be still growing. They are adorable and fit in with our family perfectly.

The Zoo
The animals have been super cute lately. Jelly is typically the cat that will go up to lay down with the dogs but recently Slinky has been getting closer and closer to laying down with the dogs. He was practically on top of Abbey last night but I didn't have a camera near me.

Slinky - he slept on his back like this for over an hour. He didn't even flinch when I took a few photos and the flash went off. It is hard to see, but he little mouth was slightly open. Too cute!

Kittens! (should start calling them Puma's)
And it's time for the animal updates!! No big updates except that I think the kittens are part puma... they are getting so big!! In most of these photos they are between 5 and 6 months old. They are so lovable to us and the dogs. They have their own way to say Hi to everybody and like to cuddle. Sure it can get annoying when they want to cuddle at 4am and head butt you until you start petting them, but after a few head rubs they tend to lay down next to you for a bit.

Jelly and Abbey.
Jelly will lay next to Abbey a few times a day. Some days it is next to Abbey, some days he is laying across Abbey's paws, and some days he just goes up, head butts a few times and walks away. Either way it is cute as hell and I'll never get tired of watching the interaction between these two.
I posted a few of the bluebonnet photos of Chewie and Abbey a few months back, but felt a little guilty that I didn't have any good photos of them on my computer.

I bought them this toy a few months ago, and they love to hang out it in.
Isn't this cuteness overload?

Sunday Sofa Fun Day

As I was enjoying my time on the couch, Chewie decided that he wanted to come up and lay down. Then Abbey wanted to come up so she scooted up and laid down (notice she took part of my pillow too). Not wanting to miss out on the action, Jelly jumped up. It took him a few minutes of looking around to find the right spot. He ended up laying partially on me and Abbey. I wouldn't say this was the most comfortable way to lay on the couch and watch TV but I loved having my fur babies with me!

I'm here!! I'm here!!! I'm here!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh... I had no idea it has been almost a month since the last time I posted in the blog. I still love my little blog but it has really slipped my mind over the past month. I am still cooking a ton, baking a ton, enjoying life with my hubs and now have a zoo to take care of at the house. Which of course is all blog worthy material, but I just have to shake the lazy's and post!
After a few adult beverages, we all became dancing fools. Here is Ashley and Jim doing a dance off... because I am biased I believe that Jim totally won! I mean, look at him,,, he is doing the running man!

Mike and Erin took us out to dinner one night to thank me for taking their Engagement photos. We had an awesome sushi dinner and then went over to Park at the Domain for a few drinks where Charlie met up with us.
We have done our fair share of eating out this year. Typically we eat out once a week and I always love trying new places. We had a few flubs in 2012.... we ate at Shoreline Grill to say good bye--they closed down on Jan 31st. Shoreline has a special place in our lives since we were married there. I loved the venue and I am sad to see it close down. Unfortunately our last dinner there wasn't great. Cold app's and off service. I hate that was our last experience with Shoreline but we will hold on to our wedding memories when we think of them. We also had a less than stellar experience at Hugos (stay away from the tamale,,, great sauce but about a teaspoon of meat filling) and at Fonda San Miguel (my stuffed poblano pepper was not only burnt they didn't take the pepper skin off).

About a month ago we met up for Nick and Magen's engagement party. We met up at Catina Laredo and then we moved over to Six. Here is Nick and Jim showing us their shirts. In the darker room it appeared that they had the exact same shirt on, but with the flash of the camera we realized they were different colors.

The fried chicken was crunchy, juicy, and spicy... delish! Jim ordered the fried chicken salad sandwich, and it is a MONSTER of a sandwich. I had a few bites of it and it was perfect with the coleslaw and pickles. I can't wait to go back!!

We met up at Jenn and Charlies house to celebrate her birthday! Here is Chris, Jenn and Jim (with Lindsay and Matt in the background).

I made a strawberries and cream jello shots for her birthday. Originally they were supposed to be strawberry hearts surrounded by the cream, but it was a nightmare trying to get the hearts to be centered in the cream. So after making one batch I scrapped that idea and just made a more Mosaic type jello shot. They tasted great so it was a success!

The kids!
Our household officially has more animals than humans, and we are perfectly happy with that! :) We adopted Jelly and Slinky a couple of weeks ago after fostering them for 6 weeks from the Austin Animal Shelter. Originally we wanted to foster to see how the dogs got a long with kittens and vice versa. All of the animals got along so well, we couldn't bear to let them go :) So now I have PLENTY of photo opportunities of the kids playing, and if you read my blog then accept the fact that you'll be subjected to lots of animal photos :)
One thing that I have noticed is that Jelly seems to bother Chewie more and hang out near him, and Slinky bothers Abbey more and will play with her over Chewie. I wonder if the kittens picked out their favorites or if it will change as they get older?
The cute look over the shoulder look from Abbey :)

The kittens have started to play with the dogs tails. It is pretty cute to watch them bat around and chase the dogs tails. The dogs look at us like "what did you bring into our house?" every time the kittens get a little feisty!
