Super easy and super quick

I make a cheesy ham and potato dish that requires little skill and just a little prep work. My dad used to make this dish quite a bit, and it never disappointed. I like it because you chop up a few items, you layer them, then you turn the crock pot on before you go to work, and then viola you have dinner when you get home! This dinner certainly isn't going to be winning any foodie awards but if you pair it with a salad you'll have a quick and easy dinner.

What you'll need:

about 6-7 potatoes, peeled and sliced evenly
1 onion, sliced thin
1 ham steak sliced into bite size pieces
1 package of shredded cheese (I use sharp cheddar, but you can use whatever you like)
2 cans of cream of mushroom soup (you can use one can mushroom and another creamy soup like cream of celery or cream of chicken)
salt
pepper
garlic powder

Step 1. Grab your crock pot, turn it to either High for 4 hours or low for 8 hours (depending on how soon you want to eat)
Step 2. place half of your sliced potatoes on the bottom of the crock pot

Step 3. Add half of your onions over the potatoes.. add salt, pepper and garlic powder.. a couple dashes of each

Step 4. Add your chopped ham over the onions and potatoes. I added a picture to show you the type of ham that we use. This was the first time I tried this brand (from Costco) and it was a good choice.
Step 5. Add between 3/4 and the entire can of mushroom soup to the top. If you would like your mixture to be a little more soupy then add the entire can.
Step 6. Add a couple hand fulls of cheese (to cover the top). I normally use sharp cheddar, but I bet a jalapeno jack or Gouda would work perfectly.

Step 7. Repeat all step 2 through 6... wait then eat!!!
